Wild Hikes Challenge: Year of the Bog

About this event

Walk, hike, skip, jog, run or stroll on eight designated trails to earn hiking rewards, including a 2026 tamarack medallion. This year’s “Year of the Bog” theme celebrates Portage County’s bog ecosystems and the opening of the Portage Park District’s newest park, Kame-Esker Bog. It’s a self-guided challenge, so families can hike on their own schedule.

Download the hiking form, then complete 8 of the listed challenge hikes. To turn in your form, call 330-297-7728 or email the park district to make an appointment. Rewards are a medallion, a hiking staff and a pet bandana. The district suggests donations of $5, $10 and $5, respectively. Visit portagecounty-oh.gov for details.
