About this event
Our Thanksgiving FOR the Turkeys event is our largest fundraiser of the year. We save turkeys from being on a plate and allow them to live the rest of their natural lives in peace and love here at the Sanctuary. In addition to celebrating these magnificent beings, this event helps us to raise money to pay our feed bill for the winter. This is our 18th anniversary of holding this event. Every year, we are thrilled to welcome old friends back and new ones to the family.
We charge admission to this event to raise money for the Sanctuary, but instead of a fixed amount, we are letting you choose the admission price that is right for you by buying a virtual item the animals need and you will have the option to make an additional donation either online or at the event. (A donation of $49 represents 1 bag of Waterfowl Food; $22.50 represents 1 bag of Pig Food; and $14.50 represents 1 bag of Sheep Food). Children tickets are available for a fixed price of $10 for children ages 4-17 and children 3 and under are free. One ticket is required per person, and tickets are non-refundable.
This event is full of amazing vegan food and animal-themed activities. All tickets include an amazing vegan meal of four delicious soups from Kind Meals, It's All Natural Temple Store, and Matthew Wolf, plus one non-alcoholic beverage. We will also have the return of our yummy Sweets & Treats bake sale , with vegan offerings from various local bakeries, including DIY Cookie Party, 108 Delectable Delights, WallFlour Bakery, and Community Grounds!
After you tour our grounds, meet our beloved animals, take pictures, and ask questions , you can eat, participate in the Raffle (with prizes including original artwork from Kathy Taylor, a handknit blanket, and a gift basket from Pattycake Bakery), buy new merchandise (sweatshirts, long-sleeve shirts, and knit hats) and browse the craft table. There will also be an activity book for kids (of all ages as we never discriminate) with a Sunrise Animal sticker for completion.
Plus, thanks to a generous donor, the first 125 visitors will receive a custom wooden turkey ornament to commemorate the event!
